Kemarin (08/08) kepolisian menyampaikan telah memulai penyelidikan tentang penggelapan valuta asing dan perjudian yang kabarnya dilakukan mantan eksekutif produser YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun Suk.
Media Ilyo Shinmun mengabarkan pada hari yang sama, polisi mendapati bahwa Yang Hyun Suk yang sering pulang pergi dari Korea ke luar negeri melakukan transaksi valuta asing tidak terdaftar senilai 1,3 M Won yang dikatakan sebagai ‘penggelapan valuta asing’.
Polisi menduga uang itu digunakan untuk membiayai perjudian di luar negeri. Telah dikonfirmasi bahwa Tim Investigasi Kejahatan Intelijen, Kepolisian Metropolitan Seoul telah melakukan penyelidikan sejak tanggal 7 Agustus lalu. Jika Yang Hyun Suk tertangkap, maka ia akan dijatuhi tuduhan melanggar Undang-Undang Transaksi Valuta Asing yang telah ditetapkan.
Berdasarkan Ilyo Shinmun, polisi telah memperoleh informasi dari intelijen yang melakukan investigasi sejak bulan April dan telah mengidentifikasi fakta-fakta spesifik. Ilyo Shinmun juga telah menerima data terkait dari Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) dan analisis data baru-baru ini mengkonfirmasi aliran dana yang membuktikan dugaan peran Yang Hyun Suk dalam skandal ini.
